Our Beginning
After seeing so many in need in the community, a woman by the name of Catherine Ewers and some friends came together in 1979 to form an organization addressing the needs of pregnant women who wanted to bring their pregnancies to term, in spite of having scant resources with which to support their children.
Birthline has grown from providing basic needs for families in crisis, to offering extensive programs that facilitate the safety, stability, and self-sufficiency of low-income women and families.
